From £6.75 a month to £2360.72 in 12 months !?
September 2006 a site of mine made a profit of £6.75. Not much at all really enough for 2 pints at the local or 6 and 1/2 at the student union
. Anyway this was made by a site of mine mainly from Adsense and very small amount from affiliate commission. September 2007 and the site made £2360.72. Why are you telling me this? Well back in sept 06 I thought the site had reached its potential, there was no way it could make any more money really in my eyes. Then throughout the year I did a bit if tweaking, added some good content and dabbled in PPC and a bit of SEO. Luckily a few merchants opened that fitted perfectly in with the site. Traffic gradually rose and it turned into what profit it makes now.
So if you have a site making similar profits as mine did in 2006 then don’t forget about it, get tweaking with it, add content, get into search results, look for new merchants and hopefully see the sales rise and rise. Also even if you don’t think that the market your in can make much money you’ll be suprised. The few who know which this site is would never thought it would make this sort of money a month

Hi Max,,
Well Done, Sounds liek a great site, and just shows what a little tweaking does. I think most newbies tweak too much though, where they do wholesale changes in one go and never found out what the small changs that brought the traffic in.
The student union must love you know.

I love posts like this, they give me hope that some of my weaker sites can turn around and actually make some £££.

Hi Max,
Certainly does give hope to newbies and part timers like me. I esp liked the post showing earnings however what would help to make sense of the value of such earnings is to post your google adwords spend here on your blog. Can we expect that sometime soon? Would be interesting to see what type of investment is required to get the turnover you advertise.
Well done!
Cheers

Hey Belinda
Sept last year no money spend on advertising so Rev was same as profit £6.75
Sept this year £181.83 was spent on adwords. So £2542.55 revenue so profit £2360.72
This does vary quite a lot tho, one of the best months July I spent £2207.50 on Adwords, so 10 times as much as I did later on in Sept. But then Revenue for July was £6305.90 So made just under £4100 profit
So really does vary for this site .
Hope this helps

Hi Max
Do you have an accountant or do you do your own tax?
I had plans a while ago to lease a big 4×4 (like a Nissan Nivaro or Mitsubishi L200 Animal)
I was going to skin it with details of one of my websites and drive it like a big advert.
I cheap way to run a vehicle for you own use thanks to the business.
Are you a driver yet?

I have 2 accountants basically, one who sorts out the tax when it needs doing, and another who gives me advice when i need it.
I do drive and do have my own car but plan on selling it, so no point putting adverts on it, I remember seeing couponpouch.com or .us in america have there branding on there car. check it out
