Well after about a week of a new direct to merchant PPC campaign the results are that it’s been a success.
Direct to merchant ppc, involves no site simply a PPC (pay per click) advert that’s destination url is your affiliate link and so goes straight to the merchant. (Note: Very few merchants allow this).
Anyway, They are worth a look in, I’m seeing a ROI of 40% which is ok and so will keep the campaign going and try to get the CPC down too
My plan for the next month or so is to try to find some more Direct to PPC merchants, and create a few more niche sites too

Well Amsterdam was brill, had a fantastic time and wish I was back there. Good news I made it back in one piece
I’d tell you more, but what happens in Dam stays in Dam
Anyway got an email today from Affiliate Window saying Congratulations… (maybe i’ve been accepted for a programme I think) but nope I’ve won the vodafone small business competition, which is great and means I’ve going to get my hands on the following gadget. Which beats my current phone hands down

Thanks to Affiliate Window and Vodafone Small Business

Thought would post some quick photos of last night on here as my blog isn’t just 100% pure affiliate marketing. The theme was Pimps n Ho’s

Total cost of costume = £10 (just for the fur coat, everything else I already had)

Quick post: The 2 days that it says on the adsense application approval thingy don’t seem to apply anymore, been much longer than that and that’s only including working days. Shame, blog doesn’t look great with the blocks showing page cannot be displayed. Just to let you know why they are still there

Well I’ve just ordered half my affiliate window christmas present. As many know they ran a competition to collect coins which on xmas day you could exchange for gifts. I was lucky enough to get a 26″ LCD HD Ready Tv. Brilliant prize, however as a student who doesn’t get any tv signal in his uni room it was a gift that wasn’t the most appropriate for me. Foretunately Dixons and AW were happy to exchange it for a voucher code to the value of £370 (Thanks Julia) :D , split into two. One £170 and one for £200. I’ve now used the £170 and bought the following.
and
So a big thanks to both of them again. Also any ideas what to spend the £200 code left on ? Considering maybe a new camera and digital photo frame.

Simply put “Check your websites daily, check they are up, check the links, and check your commission and ppc budget” It’s a dangerous thing when something goes wrong and you don’t. A had noticed a decline in sales from a certain sector, and I just presumed that it would bounce back as it has done various times before. I didn’t pay too much attention to it, nor did I log into my adwords account much at all in a week…big mistake. I finally did yesterday to find that my spend for the past 7 days had been £866ish. That’s ok nothing abnormal, but then I did a total for past 7 days on Affmeter (checks all your commission at once) to see that the totals brought in for the site in question was only about £200. This means i’m down about £700. This wasn’t right and after checking stats I found the reason. The links from the site went to the merchants as normal, but the merchants had removed all the products that my visitors were looking for.
If I had checked the site and links which would’ve taken less than a minute a day I could have saved £700 . Now I think I’ve learnt a valuable lesson

Quick Post… what pops through the post box today ? A flyer which isn’t unusual … but what is, is that it’s for an affiliate site. Very interesting. Maybe offline marketing like this works ! I’d love to know what the ROI for these flyers are for the affiliate in question. Maybe I will try and let people know

Quick post today. Basically if you need some Inspiration then look at the 2 following blog posts by Chris and Ray.
http://www.befuddled.me.uk/2008/01/2007-sales-top-1-million/
http://www.webaffiliate.co.uk/blog/networks/my-enhanced-performance.html

Both have pushed over a million sales to merchants during 2007 while holding jobs down. Pretty damn impressive I must say. Congrats to both of them.
Will I be posted my total sales to merchants for 2007 ? … nope as I mainly have pushed leads and so sales value doesn’t apply and so i’ve only just passed the £100k mark.
