Trouble Sleeping … ?

March 05, 08 by Max

The Sound Asleep Pillow Something that looks very interesting and could work/help me fall asleep. I do find it hard sometimes to fall asleep at night, things running through my mind, new ideas, changes I could be making.

The sound asleep pillow may be the answer, it plays music through the pillow so you don’t have to have earphones on, I was thinking it might be perfect to listen to a blog post from fraser

How to Make £20,000 + in 1 Night …

March 03, 08 by Max

Making money offline using the below method can be easy… but might not be good in the long term

A week ago (sunday night) I as a student went to something called Carnage. Basically claims to be biggest student bar crawl in the UK. It costs £10 and for that you get a Tshirt and entry into Manchester’s M2 Night Club. Basically it involves a bar crawl to 5 big bars then to the club at the end of the night.

Now Carnage sold around 2200+ t-shirts when the capacity of the club at the end of the night was only 1600. So basic maths £20,000 in. Now the bars I’m pretty sure will have not charged as they would love all the people coming into there bar and spending money on “normal” priced drinks not student prices which pissed a lot of us off if not everyone. The club may have charged but I’m not sure as they charged normal prices as well.

Now if each tshirt costs say £1 which in bulk they would if not cheaper, then total cost of shirts £2200, hire of bars £0 , hire of club either £0 , or couple hundred probably. Sale of tshirts/tickets £22,000. Cost of staff £0 (all were volunters who got free entry) . Estimated Profit of the Night = £20,000 +

They do this is many large cities around the UK, Not a bad money making idea, the fact that hundreds didn’t get into the club at the end, the bars charged normal prices when us students expect cheaper and the organisation was very poor means it may not be a business that lasts a long time, As although I had a really good time, a lot of people didnt.

Plant Labels

February 28, 08 by Max

A quick post about someone I know off a forum I’m on which is related to business start ups. TimberTags is a company set up by Charlie. A 15 year old entrepreneur. He creates and sells wooden Plant Labels which can be personalised. These make perfect gifts for a keen gardener, to accompany a plant as a gift to someone, as a wedding gift and more.

The plant tags are environmentally friendly and look a lot better than plastic ones. To view the timber tags, order them and to find out more visit www.TimberTags.com today :) Charlie is an inspiration to many people who want to start a business and not necessarily online like I have but also offline.

So if your stuck for an idea for a gift for someone and want something a bit different, and also want to help a young entrepreneur who also donates part of profits to an eco charity then buy some wooden plant tags :)

It’s great to see people like this who have the ability to set it up and the idea behind it. I wish him and TimberTags the best of luck and look forward to what the future holds.

50p bet wins £1 million

February 23, 08 by Max

I rarely post about news articles, but this really grabbed my eye. I do a bit of betting myself, mainly on big premiership matches and the excitement of the win is a good buzz.

“  A punter in North Yorkshire has become the first betting shop millionaire after he placed a 50p bet on eight horses with odds of two million to one.

The man who will receive a £1m payout, placed his winning bet at William Hill bookmakers in Thirsk, North Yorkshire.

The betting shop said the winner was a regular customer and had placed similar bets almost on daily basis.

The first horse that won on Friday was called Isn’t That Lucky and the last winner was A Dream Come True.

‘Staggering bet’

The punter discovered he had won at 1200 GMT on Saturday when he went into another William Hill branch in Bedale, 15 miles (24km) away from the branch were he placed his 50p bet.

Graham Sharpe from the bookmakers said: “He placed five more 50p bets for Saturday’s racing, then asked staff to check his betting slip from the day before.

“When they told him he had £1m to come but would have to collect it from the Thirsk shop, he went visibly pale before saying that he would have to go and tell his wife.”

The customer, who has not been identified but lives in the local area, landed an eight-horse accumulator, which is bookmaker William Hill’s limit on the amount of races a punter can link bets on.

Mr Sharpe added: “Even a script writer couldn’t have dreamt this one up.

“It is a staggering bet, and earns him a place in history as the world’s first betting shop millionaire.”

My First Direct PPC Campaign Results !

February 11, 08 by Max

Well after about a week of a new direct to merchant PPC campaign the results are that it’s been a success.

Direct to merchant ppc, involves no site simply a PPC (pay per click) advert that’s destination url is your affiliate link and so goes straight to the merchant. (Note: Very few merchants allow this).

Anyway, They are worth a look in, I’m seeing a ROI of 40% which is ok and so will keep the campaign going and try to get the CPC down too :)

My plan for the next month or so is to try to find some more Direct to PPC merchants, and create a few more niche sites too :)

I’m a Winner again :)
