What came through the post today… an affiliate flyer !!
Quick Post… what pops through the post box today ? A flyer which isn’t unusual … but what is, is that it’s for an affiliate site. Very interesting. Maybe offline marketing like this works ! I’d love to know what the ROI for these flyers are for the affiliate in question. Maybe I will try and let people know ![]()

Leaflet mailing like this converts at 0.1% to 0.5%, the latter being for exceptional deals. Its a very expensive way of earning sales.

Gadget, where did you get those figures from?
It really entirely depends on the content of the flyer, the market being targetted etc. I agree the figure is low for conversions but it can vary wildly across industries.
Can we see a copy of the leaflet Max?
I suspect the affiliate is attempting some form of ‘branding’ for his / her website, in the hope that in the future people will remember the name and visit the site. Really conversions would largely be impossible to measure since the ‘conversion’ could happen several months (years even!) after the mailing!

Did the affiliate have a brandable domain name? Would make life easier I suppose if the person had a good one.

It’s interesting that you got this. I wrote a post on how things like the POR voucher system could help more affiliates use offline advertising as a marketing channel.

Let me know if you do end up doing it - would be interesting to see how it goes! I think a voucher code or cashback booklet / leaflet could be a winner..
