After seeing the closure of a total of around 5 mobile phone merchants in a space of 3 days or so it was worrying for me as I actively promote the mobile sector. However I’ve seen a big increase in sales now to the bigger sites especially e2save which I made around 6 sales yesterday from when on average I normally only see 1 every 2 to 3 days. This hopefully means I might be able to hit some nice tiers this month. E2Saves current tiers are ·  · 25 sales plus = £31.50 per successful connection

·   20-24 sales = £29.00 per successful connection·

·   1-19 sales = £26.50 per successful connection· So hopefully I can try and hit the £31.50 per contract, however with validation rates around 50% it’s always hard to tell. Seen a similar move with Mobiles2YourDoor as well. This is all good as they all pay more than the merchants who closed down. So the closure which seemed pretty bad for me may not be as bad as I first thought.

I’m launching a new site aimed at students very soon and I’m looking for possible advertising opportunities on other websites, maybe include an advert in a newsletter etc.

I was watching The Gadget Show on channel 5 this evening. They had a competition between 2 of the presenters to see who could become most famous on the net in 3 weeks. Now Suzi decided to use an Viral Marketing Agency called Tamba to create a game with which at the end if you complete it you get to see a video of Suzi taking some clothes off (don’t get excited you don’t see anything ) and Jason decided to create a video of him doing some dance in London (see video here). The results after 3 weeks. The game and video got 200k+ views however the video of jason got 2million+ views. Pretty impressive, now imagine if the video had been for a product or a website imagine how much money it could have brought it.

 I think the potential for turning videos and viral marketing is huge, something that I haven’t tapped into yet and hope to do soon.

Just to say hosting has been switched and a DNS problem was the cause of the downtime if you couldnt get onto the site. Hopefully its all sorted now. I did loose a post on this blog but thats about it

Not the best day for me as a mobile affiliate. I recieve an email saying that coolnewmobile are closing with immediate effect due to liquidation. I do quite a lot of sales through them so thats not the best thing to happen to me. So thats pretty bad, I then recieve an email from James from e2save with a link to a this news article saying that phoneboxdirect are shutting down…bad again as I do quite a lot through them as well. And then I pop over to Affiliates4u to see that Phones2YourDoor are also shutting down. I do a few sales through these guys but not many.

 So 3 merchants down in one day ! All owned by the same company but still appearing to the public as 3 more options to buy from .

Lets just hope the commision ive got tied up from these will be paid

A comment from Kevin on my Logging into Aff Network: What I would love to see ! post made an interesting point and one that got me thinking. Basically Kevin was asking why I blurred out my earnings on screenshots from networks. To be honest im not sure why I did blur them out, maybe just a thing I do naturally. Many other affiliates would do this, just like you wouldn’t print your bank statement off and show your friends. However some people do show them, Kierons famous post on sitepoint  shows £84,000 coming in on just 1 page of his bank statement. This was way back in feb 06 and I’m pretty sure thats increased a lot more. . There are other examples of this such as Shoemoneys famous adsense cheque showing $132,000 in one month. Kevins comment said this line which made me think “If you earning money, show a few details, then when you speak or write people will listen” is this really true, I suppose it is to a degree, whose going to listen to someone who claims to be know what he/she’s doing if they wont prove it.

So i’ll post a screenshot of my payments from one network. Affiliate Future for 7 payments from the end of april this year till my last payment, which totals just over £22,000. I Know i’m not a huge fish in the Affiliate Marketing sea but bearing in mind in the months from April i’ve had my A-level exams, coursework, sorting out University, a few holidays and then starting uni with essays needed to be written and quite a lot of extra reading it’s not bad. Aswell this is only my earnings from one network, I also use Buy.at, Affiliate Window, WebGains and TradeDoubler. I don’t want to be seen as boasting as some may see it, i’m purely doing this in response to a post, and to see what the responses are.

Now my question is to all the other affiliate marketers out there that have blogs why have you, or why have you not posted your earnings. Don’t take this as a “demand to post them” at all as I totally agree with both posting them and not posting them at all.

Will be interesting to see the reasons behind it. Also do you feel you get more respect if you have than before you did ?

Chances are most of you who see “Maths” in something will avoid reading much like myself. Unforetunately I have to do a further maths module for my degree. I would loved to do the introductory maths but as I did the stupid thing of taking Maths AsLevel means I have to do this one.

Well i’ve been promoting a merchant on AffiliateFuture now for a long time, earning an average of £20 a day purely from one site and natural traffic. Now Andrew from Webgains knows what sites I have and told me about the fact that they are on Webgains and they offer nearly twice the commision for a bit less than qualifys with affiliatefuture. Brilliant . So I switched links and on the first day my earnings went to £90, £50 the next day and will be about £65 today. Which isnt too bad mean a 300% increase for switching a couple of links.

The moral of the story check that other networks dont have higher commision for a merchant your promoting
